His past senior executive positions include companies such as global real estate giant Ivanhoe Cambridge, Al Futtaim Group, CityStars, Majid Al Futtaim Shopping Centres and Brookfield Properties.

Just some of the prestigious projects he has under his belt are Dubai Festival City, City Centre Deira, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Muscat and CityStars in Cairo.

KHALIFA FURQAN ATHAR, CA, CMA (UK)

PARTNER/DIRECTOR,
Furqan’s 20+ years expertise in shopping centre investment, underwriting, and operational finance is well-known across the region. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the shopping centre industry, most specifically in investment management and value creation.

In previous management positions with Majid Al Futtaim Shopping Centres and Al Futtaim Group Real Estate, he has been instrumental in the financial and strategic planning of some of the Middle East and Asia’s most successful shopping centers and mixed-use developments.

TOM DVORACEK

DIRECTOR, RETAIL DEVELOPMENT

Tom leads the research, development and operations advisory team at McARTHUR + COMPANY. He has more than fifteen years of experience in retail development, asset management, operations and leasing with Dubai-based real estate giants such as Al Futtaim Group Real Estate, Majid Al Futtaim Properties and Emaar Malls Group.

At Majid Al Futtaim he was instrumental in the planning, re-development and leasing of Deira City Centre, leasing and opening of Mirdif City Centre, planning and development of Sohar City Centre and expansion of Ajman City Centre. As Senior Asset Manager at Emaar Malls Group, Tom oversaw Downtown Dubai retail assets, the Dubai Gold & Diamond Park and Emaar Communities Centres. He left Emaar as General Manager of Dubai Marina Mall and Dubai Marina Retail.

PAUL BIRKETT

DIRECTOR, MALL ASSET MANAGEMENT & OPERATIONS

Paul leads the team at McARTHUR + COMPANY which take the mall through the pre-opening operations phase, through launch and then delivers the day to day running of all aspects of shopping centre asset management across all areas including mall management, FM, tenant management, QSHE, commercialisation, retail asset transactions and many other facets of the dynamic and diverse mall landscape. With more than 15 years in operational senior management leading some of the most iconic, complex and well know malls across the UK and the GCC for both local and international retail real estate organisations.

As the former VP of Malls with Meraas he took four malls from pre-opening through to successful trading as well launching the innovative and award winning Last Exit concept across the UAE. In Doha he was one of the original mall development senior team for Mall of Qatar, developing design, fit out, operations and structure as well as delivering pre and post opening services. Within the UK Paul spent five years with leading global developer, Lend Lease, running the iconic Bluewater Shopping centre before managing a diverse portfolio of over 20 malls for organisations such as CBRE and JLL. With a background which has seen deliver services to over 15million square feet of GLA with over 3,000 tenants and hundreds of millions of customer visits with budgets in the GCC alone of over 1 billion AED, Paul has a wealth of leadership experience from the strategic through to the day to day tactical delivery of an unparalleled retail portfolio.

USMAN SAQIB

GENERAL MANAGER, FINANCE

Usman is a highly accomplished, innovative and performance-driven finance and accounts professional with over 7 years of extensive experience in accounting and finance operations. He has been previously associated with Ernst & Young and AkzoNobel and his comprehensive experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting & MIS, IFRS and mobilization of funds for new growth opportunities has helped in delivering consistent results.

He also played a key role in AkzoNobel in carrying out various feasibility studies for CAPEX investments and launching of new ventures. With McARTHUR + COMPANY  he has delivered investment advisory services to a wide range of clients.

AMIT PURI

GENERAL MANAGER, LEASING

Amit is a fully-qualified architect and passionate real estate professional with more than 15 years experience. He currently spearheads the implementation and management of strategic leasing initiatives and conducts in-depth analyses of markets and customised tenant mix solutions.

He has worked in India with prestigious companies such as Ivanhoe Cambridge, Prestige Developers and Cushman and Wakefield and has vast experience in sales and leasing strategies, business development, investment advisory and research functions.

MERHAN M. KELLER

MARKET RESEARCH & BRAND MANAGER

Merhan has extensive experience in management within the luxury fashion, cosmetic and accessories industry. She is a highly innovative and performance-driven professional. Merhan worked for prestigious international organizations and brands such as Elie Saad, Cartier, Anotah, OROGOLD Cosmetics and various others.

She plays a key role in creating innovative ideas, negotiation as well as strategic market analysis and currently is working with McARTHUR + COMPANY as an HR, market research & brand specialist manager.

MOHAMAD El SABAWI

MALL GENERAL MANAGER

Mohamad has been associated with the retail and shopping center industry for the past 20+ years, starting his career at retail shops in Canada. Over the last 2 decades, he has gained international exposure while holding senior managerial positions in the UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain in the most iconic and reputable commercial & retail projects in the region, such as the Walk @ JBR in Dubai, Wahat Hili Mall in Al Ain, RAK Mall in Ras Al Khaimah, and Al Hamra Business Tower & Luxury Center in Kuwait City.
He is currently the mall general manager at Capital Mall, Abu Dhabi.

MATTHEW STYCH

MARKET RESEARCH MANAGER, RETAIL ADVISORY

Matthew has spent more then 12 years researching and analyzing retailer performance, as well as macroeconomic retail and consumer trends in both developed and emerging markets. Before joining McARTHUR + COMPANY, he worked at Plant Retail in London and Hong Kong and was previously head of retail research at Euromonitor International. As well as his retail industry reports in both print and broadcast media, he has spoken at a number of trade events, including the National Retail Fedration’s BIG Show and Reuters’ Consumer and Retail Summit.

NEBOJSA ZARIC

MANAGER, RETAIL DEVELOPMENT

Nebojsa has more then eight years experience in asset, property and leasing management for commercial and retail projects. He was part of the largest Serbian development company – MPC Properties/Merrill Lynch and also at Confluence Property Management, the largest property management in the Balkans. While at Confluence, he led the property management team at Usce Tower  subsequently becoming Leasing Manager of the Usce Shopping Center, the largest in the Balkan region.

HITESH MIRANI

LEASING MANAGER

Hitesh has over 4 years of management and 8 years of sales & marketing experience across Canada and the UAE. His previous role with a leading real estate company saw him working as general manager where he managed the daily operations and lead a multi-cultural team towards  attaining and delivering the sales and leasing objectives of the company.
He also worked as a senior executive – marketing & sales with Tecom Investment wherein he brought several strategic clients to set up business at Dubai Industrial City

ALENOOSH MIRZAKHANIAN

LEASING MANAGER

Alenoosh has over 8 years retail-focused real estate experience which includes a distinguished track record of representing prominent retailers for their expansion requirements as well as working with regional shopping mall operators. Prior to joining McARTHUR, she established Mconsult, providing professional advisory services in retail leasing and brand development for both established corporates as well as emerging SMEs in retail and hospitality sectors. Prior to that she was the head of leasing at BinHendi enterprises managing a portfolio of over one hundred retail and hospitality locations for this Dubai headquartered conglomerate.
In her current role with McARTHUR Alenoosh is part of the leasing team for Cityland Mall and Sport Society in Dubai and Capital Mall and Hili Mall in Al Ain.

ASIM KHAN

LEASING MANAGER

Mr. Khan has over 18 years of experience in the retail property industry representing a diverse range of clients. Roles have included retail leasing, asset management, retail marketing and retail operations.
Prior to joining McARTHUR Mr. Khan was the leasing manager for Burjuman & Reef Malls, handling over 3 million Sq.ft of GLA.
He is adept at the execution of retail leasing strategies  with a proven track record in maximizing both occupancy revenues.

HAMIDREZA HASSANZADEH

Manager, Business Development- Iran

With over 9 years experience in real estate, banking, retail leasing and marketing Hamidreza is an experienced and capable individual with a wealth of professional skills.
With a key focus on commercialization, he has extensive experience in specialty leasing, promotion, media sales, events, branding and short term retail.

MOHAMMED TAHA

Leasing Executive

Taha started his career as a copywriter in publications within India but soon shifted to the real estate profession. Today, with over 10 years of experience, including 8 years in the Middle East, Taha continues his career working for both landlords and retail groups alike. His preceding roles have seen him successfully represent retailers, for their leasing requirements as well as working closely with landlords to achieve maximum occupancy and the correct merchandise mix. Recently he was the leasing manager for Mirdiff 35, a lifestyle center developed by Khansaheb Group.
In his current role at McARTHUR + COMPANY he is a part of the team responsible for leasing various regional as well as community malls.

RANA HASSAN

Senior Leasing Executive, Egypt

Rana holds a BSc in Commerce and Business Administration with over 11 years of experience in the shopping center & retail leasing sector in Egypt  where she worked for the largest integrated project in Egypt, the 750,000 m2 “Citystars” mixed-used development in Cairo`s Heliopolis District. Rana has extensive experience in retail leasing; she has joined the retail leasing department at McARTHUR + COMPANY where she will use her skills to assist with the leasing operations of McARTHUR + COMPANY’s projects across Egypt.

RANA EL DEGWEY

Senior Leasing Executive, Egypt

With over 9 years experience in real estate, banking, retail leasing and marketing Rana has worked for many of the regions leading developers including Emaar, Damac and Al Futtaim Group. As part of the Cairo Festival City Mall opening team she was responsible for specialty leasing including promotions, media, events, branding and short term retail.

PREVINDRAN SINGHE

Property Management Director McARTHUR + COMPANY – Malaysia

Previn holds an excellent scholastic record from the University Technology of Malaysia and begun his career in a leading international property consultancy firm in Kuala Lumpur in the early 1990s.
After a short stint with Tenggara Capital, as the commercial manager and also head of marketing, he was head hunted to start up a brand-new hospitality management company, Signforce. His last position in this dynamic company was as the chief marketing officer. Previn is a registered estate agent with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents, he has been registered since 1995.

Development Advisory Consultant- McARTHUR + COMPANY – Malaysia

Arjuna is an innovative, proactive and driven real estate professional who holds a bachelor’s degree in property investment and finance. Arjuna has been involved in various facets of the real estate industry over the last 8 years.
He was previously in charge of investment portfolios of both corporate and HNWI’s clients in Malaysia, tasked with handling the property portfolio diversification needs of his clients. He is also trained in property valuation and development finance and employs extensive financial analyses in conducting feasibility studies on behalf of both regional and international developers.
