Jabal Omar

Souk al Khalil is part of the Jabal Omar hospitality mega-project currently under development in Makkah, to the west of the Al Haram holy site.

Designed by Foster + Partners, the masterplan is located on a 235,000m² site and will comprise 16 hotels in 38 towers with over 13,000 hotel keys and 3,000 serviced apartments.

Retail facilities occupy several of the building podiums spread throughout the project.

The first shopping centre opened in 2013 with around 13,979m² of GLA spread over four levels and 109 units. A further 146,000m² of GLA is expected to come online as the construction phases reach completion.
